Do-Deck
2016
9'x9'x1.5'
CNC cut plywood, metallic enamel and acrylic, color-changing LEDs

For this piece I adapted a woodworking method called knock down joinery. It fit the need for the work to be portable and to eliminate the need for metal fasteners. Milled from plywood by a CNC robot, the pieces were finished by hand and could be packed flat for storage and transportation. Installation could be accomplished with little more than a rubber mallet.

The Do-Deck contained color-shifting LED lights and was strong enough to support the weight of several people lounging or dancing on top of it.
