Statement

To say that my work changed when I started using a computer in the 1990s is an understatement. I was radically influenced not just by using software for design, but also through my exposure to imagery I could not have easily seen otherwise.

Science websites showing images from microscopy or particle accelerators, different methods of data visualization, and the brand new images of amazing mathematical entities called fractals all had an effect on my work.

Of course software influenced me as well. I took to Photoshop and Illustrator right away, and found myself operating a freelance graphic design business in no time. Those design skills ended up becoming tools in my painting studio that I use to this day.
